Marilyn and Chris started Sani-Can with 119 portable toilets and one truck and trailer. By December 1, 2014, they had 350 toilets, three trucks, and are staying busy! In addition to green, pink and ADA compliant toilets, Sani-Can also offers hand washing stations.
In October 2014 the business purchased 2 acres on WCR 100 (just off FM 1788) to the west. Marilyn’s CPA offices are in the front, (3 offices and a kitchen) and in the back, there is a three truck bay metal building where they can park all three trucks. There is also lots of space for trailers and portable toilets waiting to be rented out.
Marilyn is a full time CPA with 25 years’ experience. In Odessa since 1972 and a graduate of UTPB, she received her CPA certificate in 1981.
Chris and his wife Michelle were employed by A T & T in advertising sales, when Chris got the idea about staring the portable toilet business from a friend in Lubbock. He was tired of traveling for AT&T, so they decided that starting Sani-Can would be a great way to stay local and make a living.
Marilyn and Chris were very satisfied with the assistance they received at the SBDC.
