Noelia moved to Andrews over 20 years ago and worked as a DJ in and around Andrews for almost 20 years. Noelia also worked in the new accounts division at National Bank of Andrews and was ticket manager for the Odessa Jackalopes Hockey team.
Noelia first came to the SBDC office in September 2013 to get assistance with a business plan and financial projections. Her friends had encouraged her to purchase a restaurant building for her DJ business, but then she changed her mind and thought a new sports grill would be more profitable. In November 2013, after Andrews County passed an ordinance to allow the sale of beer and wine, she decided, with the help of our office counselor, to revise the projections to show increased revenues from the sale of beer and wine at A-Town Sports Grill.
Noelia opened for business in July 2014 with 9 full and 2 part time employees. The large restaurant has 9 or 10 big screen TV’s and attracts a sizable evening crowd. A-Town also has a spacious patio area with 2 large TV’s there.
Noelia and her new restaurant are active in the community, and sponsor a number of events, including a local swim meet this summer.
She said she is extremely pleased with revenues which closely match the financial projections.
